Who & What is the AQMD?
SCAQMD, AQMD, or “South Coast Air Quality Management District” for short, is the agency that is responsible for controlling air pollution, making sure compliance is met with federal and state clean air requirements, issuing permits, and monitoring air quality.
AQMD is currently investigating, issuing, and requiring the Chiquita Canyon Landfill to comply with a numerous amount of different requirements.

Why Report to AQMD?
Reporting odors to AQMD (Air Quality Management District) is an important part of our fight against the Chiquita Canyon Landfill. By simply making a report of any odors you smell, you could be making a difference in your community.

Follow our step-by-step guide below, to file a complaint online, via e-mail, or by phone.
Via Web
Go to the following website: www.aqmd.gov/home/air-quality/complaints
Scroll to the bottom of page to select “online complaint system”
Enter your contact information (check “remember me” if you would like).
Under “Complaint Details” - Select ODORS as the type & write a description, the date, time, and enter your address.
Type in the code & press submit.
Via Phone
Call the Following Number: 1-800-CUT SMOG (1-800-288-7664).
Press ‘2’ to create a complaint.
You will be transferred to an agent. Follow their instructions to describe your complaint, location, and other information.
Once completed, you may hang up.

Subject the Email: “Air Quality Complaint”
Type the body of the email as follows:
Type: Odor
Time/Date: (today’s date & time you smelled odors)
Description: (your description here)
Location: (enter your location here)
Send the email.
