Tony Briscoe, a staff writer for The Los Angeles Times who has reported extensively on the fire, told “NewsNation Now” that some residents he’s spoken with have gone so far as to leave their homes or sleep in their car to avoid the smell.

“It’s really ruined the quality of life for a lot of folks who I’ve spoken to in the neighborhoods,” said Briscoe. “People have left (their homes) in the middle of the night to go sleep in their cars and other locations. It’s been incredible to hear about the drastic measures that folks have to take just to escape the smells and these odors.””
