John Perkins

John Perkins is a legal assistant at SOM, where he provides administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling employment disputes and large-scale mass-action cases. He assists with case management, document preparation, discovery coordination, and the organization of case materials throughout the litigation process.

Prior to joining SOM, Mr. Perkins gained valuable legal experience with the Major Crimes Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. In that role, he supported prosecutors on a high-profile homicide case that ultimately resulted in a conviction. During his time with the District Attorney’s Office, he assisted attorneys with trial preparation, evidence management, and case coordination. His responsibilities included maintaining evidentiary materials for presentation to juries, managing calendars, drafting legal documents, coordinating meetings, and communicating with clients and stakeholders.

Mr. Perkins graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2020, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. While at Berkeley, John developed a strong foundation in law, public policy, and global affairs. He plans to pursue a Juris Doctor in the future as he continues advancing his career in the legal profession.

Outside of work, Mr. Perkins enjoys watching football and hanging out with friends, spending time with his dog Bruski, and being with his wife and family.
